Mechanical Engineering
Student with a
passion for design
& creativity.
Driven by a passion for animatronic technology & immersive dark ride systems, I'm seeking a career in the imaginative world of themed entertainment. To bring this vision to life, I'm pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Utah.
Current Personal Goals:
Master Solidworks CAD & animation features
Learn design & sculpting utilizing Blender & ZBrush
Track & manage my very own animated figure project (see projects below)
Continually combine photography & videography talents within engineering to express & communicate creative ideas
YouTube Channel - Ryker Drake
A self-titled art & engineering related channel centered around challenging myself to engineer & build objects. Utilizing means of CAD, 3D modeling, 3D printing, & multimedia project development. Each project is followed by a showcase in video and photo formats.

Icebreaker Index Cards
Inspired by the common social phrase of 'break the ice', I designed and printed 18 'Ice-breaking' cases to encourage conversation on my college campus. More affordable and more satisfying than commercial conversation cards. Utilizing AutoDesk Fusion 360 and Cura Slicer for design and 3D printing.

AutoDesk Fusion 360, Cura Slicer, Creality Ender 3
Each case features four magnets and helps to create the 'break the ice open effect'. I printed cases in three different colors of blue for atheistics and to diversify. I stepped into a bit of the manufacturing and marketing world during this project through producing 18 of them, and creative photography (see photos below).
Water Pump Recreation
As an introduction into the world of mechanical engineering, I was tasked along with three others (credited in video) to recreate a water pump. We chose to do a rope pump design with a 3D printed rotating wheel and plungers. (click a photo below to see gallery)
